About the walk
This is our Lights on the Plaza event as a 6 week seasonal event. The lights on the Plaza, get turned on Thanksgiving evening, come out and enjoy them at your leisure. Check our website to find dates and times for guided group walks available both in daylight or dusk.
This walk takes you through the Country Club Plaza and surrounding areas. The Plaza
is a virtual outdoor museum of Spanish architecture and European art. J. C. Nichols
developed the area in 1922 as the nation's first suburban shopping center, in 1930
the first official Plaza Lighting ceremony took place. Walkers, while marveling at
the beautiful Christmas lights, will have an opportunity to view the 130 foot tall
reproduction of the Giralda Tower of Seville. Another Plaza wonder on the route is
